Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 August 2026
1. Who we are
dystrocast is a browser-based live streaming studio available at dystrocast.com, provided by the operator of dystrocast (“dystrocast”, “we”, “us”). For notices and legal questions, contact legal@dystrocast.com. By creating an account or using dystrocast you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. The service
dystrocast lets you create live broadcasts in your browser, invite guests, compose branded scenes, stream the result to destinations you choose — connected platforms such as YouTube and Twitch, or custom RTMP(S) endpoints — and record broadcasts as MP4 files.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use dystrocast.
- Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- We may require email verification before your first broadcast.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to the content you create and stream. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, transmit, composite, record and store that content solely to operate dystrocast and deliver your broadcasts to the destinations you choose. This licence ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except for copies already delivered to destinations at your direction.
You are responsible for your broadcasts, including obtaining permission from everyone who appears in them. Guests you invite are captured (audio and video) as part of your broadcast and recordings.
5. Acceptable use
- Use dystrocast only lawfully; do not stream content that infringes others’ rights, including copyright and privacy rights.
- Do not attempt to breach, probe or overload our systems, or misuse other users’ accounts or data.
- Follow the rules of each destination platform you stream to.
6. Third-party platforms and YouTube
When you connect a third-party platform or stream to a custom destination, your use of that platform is governed by its own terms and policies, and its availability is outside our control. dystrocast uses YouTube API Services to provide the YouTube integration.
By using dystrocast with a connected YouTube account, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, available at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Our Privacy Policy explains what YouTube data we handle and how you can revoke access.
dystrocast creates YouTube broadcasts with the “not made for kids” setting. If content you stream to YouTube is “Made for Kids”, you must declare it as such in YouTube Studio (on desktop) in line with YouTube’s requirements.
For users in the European Union, Google’s EU User Consent Policy (google.com/about/company/user-consent-policy.html) applies to the YouTube integration.
7. AI-dubbing
When you enable dubbing to deliver your broadcast in multiple languages, your live audio is transcribed and translated by third-party processors (Soniox for speech-to-text, Azure OpenAI for translation and quality checking, and Cartesia for voice synthesis). See our Privacy Policy for details on how these processors handle your data.
8. Recordings and storage
When recording is enabled, we store your MP4 recordings and related assets (posters, brand images) so you can download and manage them. You control deletion. We may apply reasonable storage limits with notice.
9. Plans, billing and refunds
dystrocast offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. Plan prices and limits are listed on the pricing page; the limits of your plan (such as streaming time, quality, destinations, guests and recording retention) are enforced by the service. Paid subscriptions are billed in USD by our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. Taxes may be added where applicable.
You can cancel or change your plan at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and access continues until then. If a renewal payment fails we will retry it; if it continues to fail your account returns to the free plan. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice — changes apply from your next renewal.
Refunds: if dystrocast isn’t for you, email billing@dystrocast.com within 7 days of your first subscription payment and we will refund it in full. Renewal payments are otherwise non-refundable except where the law requires.
10. Availability and changes
dystrocast is an early-stage product provided “as is” and “as available”. Live streaming depends on third-party platforms and networks; we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may change or withdraw features as the product evolves.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability for all claims arising out of the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid us in that period (or £50 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. If you use dystrocast as a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using dystrocast at any time and can ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, unlawful use, or risk to the service or other users — with notice where reasonable.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date above always reflects the current version. For material changes we will give reasonable notice (for example by email or in the product). Continuing to use dystrocast after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep any rights and protections granted by the law of your country of residence.
15. Copyright complaints
If you believe content streamed or stored via dystrocast infringes your copyright, email legal@dystrocast.com with the details (the content, where you saw it, and your rights). We act on valid notices, including removal and account action for repeat infringers.
